Happy Father’s Day Truck Drivers.

Special shout out to all the female truck drivers out there but this post is for the Men, the fathers the truck driver poppas out there.  What do you get a man who drives a truck for fathers day?  An interesting question indeed.

Here are some ideas to consider when looking for a great fathers day gift for a truck driver:

1. Leave him alone.  Let the man be. Stop checking on him and finding out when or where or how he is going to do what ever it is he is going to do. Don’t try to find out what he is going to do, don’t ask him what he was doing when he gets back. Maybe he is going fishing maybe he’s shooting pool talking trash with the fellas.  What ever it is let him be its his day.

2. Don’t buy him something for the truck.  This is like buying a women a vacuum cleaner or a new dishwasher for her special day.  This won’t work get the man something for his boat instead if he has one. Or get him a gift certificate.  This is the easiest way to go.

It’s the natural order the man passes on the skills of the trade to his son and on and on.  It was my grandfather who started the trucking legacy in our family.  He taught his oldest son and he taught me so the link continues as I hope to inspire youth to get into this great industry.

My grandfather would always appreciate what ever it was we  got him for fathers day.  I would always get him something but he would crack jokes about it no matter what in his own special way.  For him the best gift I think was for us to come around and hang out which we also enojyed so it was a win win.

So my advice for you is to give something that you can’t take back, time.  Figure out a way to spend quality time.  Go to the beach, go to the park, go to an arcade.  Whatever it is that suits your fancy but go and spend sometime before its too late, take pictures and enjoy yourself. Happy Father’s day.
