The second you were born the world was changed forever and it will never be the same. If you enter trucking your life will change forever and will never be the same. You just can’t know what you haven’t learned yet. Its something that you just have to experience to really understand. This is why those who do so well in life spend so much time reading and finding better ways to do things.
What is your biggest motivation to get involved with trucking? If it is money then you need to look a little deeper before you get going. Money is a motivation to get people to do thing but like they say money can’t buy love. Do you want to love your life? If your motivation is only money then you could fall short. Stress will creep in due to the fact that you are not fulfilled in your career. Even money after a while wears off. Why do you think former Goldman banker Greg Smith quit? He was making millions of dollars as a executive at the largest bank in the world. Why would he quit? Begin with the end in mind is ancient wisdom think ahead as many moves as you can and remember to follow your heart for true prosperity follow money and end up disappointed.
This is why when I drive I didn’t focus on Maximum profit all the time. I just wanted to make my quota for the week and get back to living. Driving a truck can be a cool way to make money if your priorities are on getting the most out of life. Think about it like this what do we actually do while we are here on earth that we can take with us? The only thing I can think about is the memories and the relationships. This is what separates what is real and what is fake. When you look a things from another perspective your priorities could change.
Trucking can end racism? Here is what I mean by this. I was once getting loaded at a large beer manufacture and I noticed this middle age white guy with this brown skinned toddler just hanging out in the truck. We were both waiting to get loaded so I ended up having a conversation with him. He said was a country boy from Alabama and the kid was his grandson. When I realized this I knew then that racism is on its death bed. Now you have a middle age southern white man taking care of his mixed black and white grandson. It is a beautiful site that smashes stereotypes. Some people have heard the stories of people getting disowned for going out side of race. Its good to see different generations coming together all in the name of trucking. The grandson will never forget his grandfather just like I will never forget mine. The impact will last forever.
Start off in trucking with big ideas and anything really is possible. You have to always remember that you were put here to accomplish something amazing do not settle for less if the life you are living feels wrong make the change today.
