People who want to join the fraternity of truckers have to go through the CDL testing process. The process is notoriously difficult for people who don’t have knowledge about the process before they start. The first step is one that is mental you need to make this decision in your mind before you start. This is the most important step. Everyone is different some people write out what they want to happen and then look at it each and every day. Some people repeat a saying each day. What ever works for you do it, but decide in your mind that today you will get your CDL.
Once you have made up your mind that you will succeed you can start the process. The first step is to verify you are healthy enough to be a truck driver. You will need to get a medical ID card to ensure you are not someone with a condition that could cause you to loose control of the truck. You can visit your doctor or clinic and tell them you need a CDL physical. Once you check out ok you will get a medical ID card.
The next step is to consider how you will go about getting your license. Are you someone with wads of cash on hand or have an inheritance that you want to spend? If so then you may consider professional truck training. Since you have the cash on hand go ahead and blow it that way. However, I recommend another approach in my eBook and I would recommend this even if you do have access to lots of money. I explain why you would end up in a much better place after 24 months with my advise.
The CDL testing process is all about the driver proving to the state that they can safely operate a commercial vehicle and that they understand which precautions to take. There are regulations that you will have to prove you understand.
The first test you will need to get past is the written test. This step can be passed with ease if you follow the instructions in the eBook. I was able to pass all the written tests and all the endorsements on the first sitting. It is because of my results that I recommend this CDL practice test. So if you want to get past the written test use what I used and then expect to pass on the first time.
The second test is the PTI. You will have to show an inspector what things need to be checked in order to ensure the truck is safe. You will have to demonstrate that you know the types of defects that are possible in key pieces of equipment. This is something you can pass with the advise I used. The information is included with the CDL practice test I recommend.
The last step of the testing process is the road test. You will have a chance to show what you can do in a commercial truck. You will be tested driving a truck with an empty trailer. I was tested with a 53′ trailer. You can do this if you use the preparation techniques I recommend in the eBook.
