I think it is very interesting talking to people about what is important. What drives you in this world? What legacy do you want to leave? Its really up to you when you really look at it. There are plenty of other people all around you who are completely focused on their own interests. What are your interests? What would the world look like if you can snap your fingers?
How would you make the world better? What will you leave your descendants? Think about what has been left to you? Is it the reason why you are where you are today? Did you take what you were given and improve on it? Or are you still stuck where you started? The beauty is that either way you can make a difference to future generations, What is your plan?
My grandfather was one person who I couldn’t really understand fully until he was gone. He wanted to leave a legacy for his family and he did it by purchasing trucks during his career. He meticulously maintained his trucks and now his son operates them and is still productive. This is what is possible in the world of trucking. I was inspired and went all the way to starting an independent trucking company.
What legacy would you like to leave? The Lucas oil company was started by an owner operator husband and wife they just kept going and kept making great deals and products. Next thing you know they have a billion dollar business. The sky really is the limit in the transport industry so the question remains what will be your legacy? What is it that you are working to accomplish not just today but for decades to come? Remember you will not be the person to tell your story.
