You might be an American citizen if? Happy Citizenship day.

America is the great melting pot.  People need to stop and think more about the original Indigenous people who had lived all over North America for thousands of years before Christopher Columbus was ever born.  All those people are the original American citizens.  Now many things have changed but its still important to consider this on Citizenship day.

When I was in elementary school I always got A’s and B’s and some C’s but I would always get F’s on citizenship.  I never could understand why laughing at a joke or something meant I was a bad person?  I also never did try to learn how to write in cursive, I knew as a child this was a scam as I never noticed adults writing that way.  Why waste our time?

Politics have heated up over the border and immigration.  I think it is interesting from a historical perspective to see the children of the the immigrants now judging the migrants.  Now its all about rules and the law but when the Indians were run off their land it wasn’t about law then.  I find it very interesting to look at this argument from different perspectives.  What is right?  I don’t think you can have security if your have a country that anyone can walk in and out of so I think this is an interesting topic for debate.

The constitution actually protects people not citizens.  This is something that I think everyone needs to understand.  The shining hill of freedom that America represents protects everyone on this land with the same constitution.  The law of the land as it is written does not claim it affects and serves citizens but people.  Did you know about this distinct difference?  Many people are not aware.

Even the U.S. president has citizenship questions.  Don’t blame me blame the court in georgia that had hearings regarding Obama and his birth status.  I didn’t send in a sheriff in Arizona to hold a press conference about his status.  You can ask the presiding judge Jeff S. Masin why there is a case about this in New Jersey.  So maybe some people we think are citizens really aren’t.

What makes a person an American citizen?  What should make a person a citizen?  What does citizenship mean anyway?  Wikipedia says a citizen is a person with citizenship or  membership in a political community such as a country or city.  In America if you are born here is your birth right this is why its so funny that Obama is having so many problems with what should be such an easy thing to prove.
